Thank you for a Great School Year

Dear Dr. Gordon Townsend School Families,

On behalf of the staff at Dr. Gordon Townsend School, I would like to thank all of our students and their families for an incredible year.  We have just a few more days of school left in this school year.  Our last day of classes is Tuesday, June 28th

Our students have shown tremendous growth over the past school year.  I am proud of our school community and they ways in which each of us worked towards the common goal of making Dr. Gordon Townsend School a special place to learn and grow.

Here are a few announcements for the final days of the school year:

Alberta Children’s Hospital 100th Anniversary Celebration

On June 29th, the Alberta Children’s Hospital will be celebrating 100 years!  We are excited that some of our students will have a chance to decorate the sidewalks and pathways with special colourful messages for the big event!

Congratulations and Welcome

Congratulations to Andy Heaton, our Assistant Principal on his retirement.  We are so grateful for Andy’s 33 years as an exceptional educator and leader.  His impact on the DGTS school community has been tremendous and we will miss his wisdom and caring and compassionate leadership.

I am pleased to welcome to the DGTS family, Andrea Byrne, Assistant Principal.  Andrea bring many years of experience as an Assistant Principal and Guidance/Resource Learning Leader in all grades to our team.  Andrea is looking forward to working with all of our staff, students and families next year.

We hope that all of you enjoy a safe and relaxing summer.  For those of you returning to DGTS, next year, we look forward to seeing you on our first day of school Monday, August 15th

Sincerely,

Jennifer Edmondson-Neily

Principal
