Drainage Pond Safety

We continue to remind our students of the dangers of the drainage pond behind the hill. The pond is not part of our supervision, nor do we have the personnel to monitor it. We have told students that they cannot go on the pond, we have outlined the dangers of walking on the ice. We now require your help again with this. Please talk with your child about the dangers of walking on the ice of the pond. The current that exists in the water will likely suck anyone that falls in under the ice, making survival very unlikely. What seems fun now could have very tragic consequences.
