Colour War is an amazing culture building, team developing, character designing, academic, athletic event. The program is run in many summer camps in Canada and the USA. It has two teams, in our case Orange and Blue, competing against each other in events that are academic, athletic, crafty and anything else you can think of to ensure we can involve all of our students. Colour War focuses on skills from all areas in the school setting; math, science, humanities, physical education and health. The planning for this event, which take 7 days spread over the remainder of the year, began in August. Until today, not one student was aware that this was coming, today we launched the event and it was fantastic. Every student received a T-Shirt of the colour of the team they are representing and every student will have an opportunity to take part in events. The goal is to continue to build a strong sense of community among our students and staff, to build relationships that will support us in our everyday task of learning and growing, and to have a little fun along the way. Today is day one, the next day will be…another surprise. In the end we are one big family, although only one team can win, there are no losers in Colour War, the victory is in the process.
