At Dr. Martha Cohen we have embraced Alberta Education’s vision and mandate around Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) and Fine and Performing Arts.

We believe that students should all have a variety of experiences to draw upon as they grow and develop. Students in grades 5 and 6 will work through a number of modules with CTF and Fine Arts teachers throughout the year developing skills that can be built upon year after year. Students in grades 7, 8 and 9 will participate in more focused CTF and FIne Arts options courses with deeper exploration in more focused areas of specialization. CTF and Options are taught every day for all grades 5 through 9, exposing them to a large variety of opportunities.

CTF and Complementary Opportunities

Activities and career pathways that students may explore include:

  • Band
  • Vocal Music
  • Guitar
  • Art
  • Communication Technology
  • Construction
  • Design Studies
  • Drama
  • Fashion Studies
