o   Please continue to support us with our Pack in –Pack out initiative. Our garbage cans still have a lot of wrappers etc.
o   Please help us out by not sending your child to school if they are not well. There are lots of fall bugs out there and we are trying to stay healthy.

Our school will be recognizing Orange Shirt Day on Thursday September 29th. 
Orange shirt is a “day to honour children that survived residential school, and to remember the lives that were lost. Wearing orange is a symbol of respect and mourning." (healthiertogether.ca) 
To honour this important day each class will recognize the day in their own way through stories, videos, discussion and/or art. Each grade team will create a visual project, an image that represents an act of reconciliation. 
Your child is invited to wear an orange shirt on September 29th to recognize the significance of the day.

o   Hug & Go Volunteers - We are in need of volunteers to run our daily Hug and Go program. The commitment requires approximately 20 minutes of your morning time, from 8:10 am to 8:30 am, with a minimum commitment of one day per week. If you are interested please e-mail drbshugandgo@gmail.com

Call for Agenda Items - Our next School Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 6:45pm. In following with our consent agenda format, please send any agenda requests to DRBSCouncilChair@gmail.com and we will attempt to include as many items as possible within the time allotted for the meeting. Please have your agenda items submitted by the end of day Sunday October 2 so we can finalize and distribute the agenda to the school community.
