Communication is the Key!
While our students and their families get to enjoy an extra long weekend (April 19, 22 & 23 - no classes), the staff from both Emily Follensbee School and Christine Meikle School will be participating in a 2-day workshop. This workshop will be facilitated by Linda Burkhart who is a well-known Teacher and Leader in the field of assistive technology, adaptive play and augmentative communication for children who face significant challenges. Linda has developed numerous adaptive equipment and strategies to support students, as well as authored a number of books which focus on the various areas of assistive technology and augmented/alternative communications.

We are excited to be continuing our own professional development in these areas so that we can extend new knowledge, strategies and technology to the students and families of Emily Follensbee. Communication is always the key!
