March 2022
We got caught up in the Olympic spirit and enjoyed listening to, and playing along with our “Oh Canada” anthem. We followed the medal count and used the process to work on matching colours and numerals, counting sets, and comparing numbers. We had fun with our own version of the biathlon and were happy to share some outdoor laughs with our whole school community. Our classroom is currently working on building prepositional and directional vocabulary, inspired by the book Snow on Snow on Snow by Cheryl Chapman. Although we are happy to add some snow for our book study, we will be eager for March to bring warmer days!
December 2021
Our class has continued to incorporate movement actions in both gross motor and academic activities. At the end of October, our Spirit Committee provided pumpkins for each class. We made predictions about how we could move pumpkins, and then discussed the results! Quite messy and fun! In November, we focused on Body Parts and our Senses, with a continued exploration of core vocabulary CAN, and DO. We are looking forward to December and upcoming winter break!
