March 2022
Time goes by very quickly! It seemed like we just came back from our winter break and now March is already around the corner! After returning from winter break, we were shocked and saddened by learning of Lincoln’s passing over the Christmas break. We would like to welcome Aisha to our classroom. Aisha has started school in the beginning of December and has adapted very well to new school and our classroom routine. She likes all our music programs, sensory room, circle time and to be busy with all gross motor activities. Aisha is a great addition to our classroom, and we are glad that she has joined our group.
We started our winter unit in December and continued it through January and February. We have learned about season changes, snow, fun winter activities and animals that live in cold climates. We did a variety of sensory activities which all students in our class like to be involved in – it was messy at times, but it was a great learning experience and lots of fun! We also learned about winter clothing and activities that we can enjoy in Calgary through Tap-It programs, sensory stories, many songs and poems. Students enjoy sensory stories, like Snowmen at Night, in our classroom daily and like to participate in this activity.
In March, we will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day so please remember to wear green on March 17. We will also start learning about spring before our break. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable spring break!

December 2021
It’s hard to believe that December is here already. We
have had a fantastic fall and are enjoying the mild start to the winter
months. In the past month, our class learned about fall with Thanksgiving
and Halloween themes for artwork. We have also joined the Terry Fox Run by
walking and biking on the walking path by our school and participated in
activities related to Remembrance day. November’s theme was “All About Me”.
Students in our class participated in story time, crafts and sensory activities
that are related to this theme. We are continuing our learning adventures as we
head into winter break. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!
