Looking ahead: 

Next week students will begin their “All About Me” presentations, they have been given some time to complete their work in class but will likely need to finish at home to add in personal photos.  In ELA next week, students will be completing a writing assignment describing their ideal schoolyard design. Students will be learning how to annotate a text for close reading. In Math, students will begin learning about place value. Grade 5’s will be learning about numbers up to one million, and Grade 6’s will be learning about numbers up to and above one million. In Science, Grade 5’s will continue learning about different types of Wetlands and the different biotic and abiotic factors of Wetlands, and Grade 6 students will be learning about the parts of a leaf and characteristics of leaves to continue with their unit on Trees and Forests. To prepare for the upcoming Federal Election, students will be partaking in ‘Student Vote’ and will be learning about the ins and outs of how an election works for Social Studies.
