​On Friday mornings when your children are in bed the teachers are hard at work learning and collaborating to be the best they can be. We have spent time in the last month looking at data from last year including Provincial achievement test results and report card outcomes. In our conversations we have determined that we need to focus our learning on assessment in various ways. 

One area of growth for us is to give more feedback to students in meaningful ways such that students can improve their work and therefore their achievement. We are learning various ways to give meaningful feedback in all courses to support learning. 

Another area of growth is for subject teams to develop a common understanding of each of the report card outcomes and what a 1, 2, 3, or 4 would look like for each of those outcomes. We are also working on developing an understanding of what a meaningful body of evidence looks like for each outcome. 

As we continue our learning we are hoping that we will see a positive impact on student learning and achievement.
