Any student with prior French experience will need to meet with the Language teacher to get a recommendation for placement.

French 30 Challenge

Offered for students from French Immersion or Francophone backgrounds who speak fluent French. This is not a course, but a challenge exam designed to prove students can complete all outcomes from the French 30 curriculum; this includes reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
If students are successful they will earn 15 credits.

French 10-3Y -5 credits

This entry-level course provides a practical learning experience using a theme-based approach. Students do not need previous language experience.
Prerequisite: None

French 20-3Y - 5 credits

Students who have successfully completed up to Grade 9 French are recommended to register for the French 20 Level.
Prerequisite: French 10 or Grade 9 French

French 30-3Y - 5 credits

Students who have successfully completed an immersion program are recommended to register for the French 30 Level or discuss a challenge with the teacher.
Prerequisite: French 20
