Mask Guidelines for Students and Staff Now Available
Dear G.W. Skene
We enjoyed seeing the students in their year-end class
meetings this week and it was especially fun to reflect on some of the great
learning that happened over the year during the Grade 5 Farewell. We
wish our Grade 5 students all the best in their new adventures in Middle
Below are a few important reminders to wrap up
the school year.
Families can access report cards online. Please see our school website
for more information: http://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/GWSkene/about-us/news-centre/_layouts/15/ci/post.aspx?oaid=652e5a28-7842-4b51-a775-258d7a3c8ce7&oact=20001
All loaned devices should now be returned. Families will be asked to pay
for any lost or damaged items, including missing charging cords or power
blocks. Please take an extra look around to ensure all of these items
have been returned.
Last Chance to Pickup Student Items
Monday is the last chance for students to pick up learning supplies and
personal items including clothing and foot ware. All remaining items,
including those in our Lost and Found will be thrown away, recycled, shredded
or donated on June 30.
We are excited that Terra Xavier will be joining our teaching staff this
fall. In her current role as an Area Literacy Strategist, Ms. Xavier has
lead numerous professional development sessions for our staff and she has
worked with teachers and students in classrooms to further develop reading and
writing skills. We are very excited that she will be teaching with
us next year.
September School Start-up
To stay updated on information and plans regarding school start-up,
families are encouraged to check their email regularly during August. Information
will also be posted on our school website. School starts September 1, 2020.
The staff at G.W. Skene hope each of you has a
healthy, restful and fun summer break!
