Traffic Safety

Ensuring our students get to school safely is everyone’s responsibility. Please be mindful of crosswalks, parking rules and speed limits when you are near our schools, especially during the morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times.

Parking & Drop-Off

Drop Off

A gentle reminder that students should not arrive before 8:50 AM. Students must be under the direct supervision of a teacher or staff member while attending school and there is no school supervision provided before this time.

Pick Up

Students are assigned a consistent entry and exit door at the school. To ensure the safety of our students, we ask that parents not enter the school to pick up children at dismissal time. Generally, children in Kindergarten through Grade 2 are picked up by parents or caregivers. Teachers do not release these youngest children until the parent or caregiver is visible to the child.

Driving your Child to School

Please drive very slowly and carefully around the school. Large numbers of cars, buses and pedestrians can make this a potentially dangerous situation. Please note that children may not be dropped off in the school parking lot or in bus loading zones.

Parking

Stalls in the parking lot are for staff only. Visitors are required to park on the street. Consideration for neighbors who need to use their driveways and alleys is necessary.

School Patrols

Patrols are provided at the crosswalk at 35th Ave. & 47th Street. Please encourage your children to use the patrolled crossings and respect the school patrollers. Grades 5 & 6 students are encouraged to show leadership by signing up for this volunteer program.
