Re-Entry Plan for September Released
Alberta Government Announces In-Person Classes to Resume Sept. 1
Year-End Message for Families
Thank You for Outstanding Response on Re-Entry Surveys!
I just wanted to send a final note for the year as our teachers are wrapping up year-end celebrations with their students and staff (virtually). This has been a year of firsts for myself, our staff, our students, and our families. I want to thank all of you for your support of your child’s learning, our teachers and our school. Your kind words and praises in your email communications to myself and the rest of the staff and of course all of your supportive messages on home made signs during our “We Miss You” parade were very much appreciated, emotional and inspiring. Your kind messages have reaffirmed to our teachers why we work hard to plan and provide engaging, safe, and caring learning opportunities for your children everyday. Thank you!
I also want to thank our many volunteers for all of their contributions with field trips, in-class support and fundraising. You truly make all of our extra learning initiatives possible.
I also want to thank and recognize our school council for their time and efforts to support our entire school program. I enjoyed our community movie nights, discussions, ideas, and thoughtful support of learning at Grant MacEwan School.
Chairperson: Rebecca Jameson
Vice Chair: Chris Dingman
Treasurer: Lauren Rosen
Secretary: Jennifer Wall
Playground Chair: Nigel Greentree
To continue with our year of firsts, parents will access their child’s report card through their MyCBE/ PowerSchool account.
Susan Bernstein, Erine Thai, Rein Sastok and Jen Hill will not be at Grant MacEwan next year. These teachers had an exceptional year at Grant MacEwan and our students, families and staff will miss. I wish them all the best and know they will excel and flourish in their new roles as they did here at Grant MacEwan
At this time, the plan for return to school on September 1st as outlined by Alberta Education, will be that in-school classes will resume with increase health measures in place. Please stay informed as we await the announcement on or before August 1st from the Provincial Government as to how school will resume on September the 1st. Updates will be available on our website and the CBE web page.
I am thinking of our Grant MacEwan students and families and hope you all have a safe and wonderful summer! See you September 1.
The provincial government has announced that schools will return to classes under Scenario 1. We’re very excited to welcome our students back to school, while keeping everyone as safe as possible on Tuesday Sept 1
