November-December
In November, we had a wonderful Remembrance Day Assembly. Each class contributed a video, poem or artwork and everything was shared to each class in their own homerooms.
We will hold our second School Council meeting on November 25. We will discuss the School Results Report, the School Development Plan, the school budget and the Report to Parents on Fees. These documents will be found on our school website. At each meeting, a grade group of teachers presents on what is happening in their classrooms. The grade 1 teacher, Mrs. Oseen, will present this time. The next meeting is January 27. Please join us on-line and learn more about your school.
In December, we are promoting kindness and caring. We will have a craft afternoon to decorate the school. We will play carols in the classes. We will support The Calgary Foodbank as our Christmas charity. We hope students learn that they can make a difference in peoples’ lives. . By showing children how they can be of service to others, we are supporting children who care and contribute to society. Thank you parents for working alongside of us to instill these qualities in your children.
December will have Parent-Teacher conferences on December 10 and 11. These interviews are very important as it provides time for parents, teachers and students to discuss the learning experiences that have happened over the past 3 months. Interviews will be done virtually. Report cards will not be sent home until February.
I would like to thank the parents who are following the traffic rules in the parking lot and on the street at the front of the school. We have had to remind parents to drive carefully and watch for children at all times. We all worry about keeping children safe so it is up to all of us to obey the rules.
Registration for next year begins in January. Please let friends and neighbours know about our wonderful school. We are happy to have them join our Hamptons school family.
During the winter break, enjoy your family time and we look forward to new learning and experiences after the winter break.
