It is June and we are rapidly approaching the end of the
school year. We have had such a
different kind of year. The last few
months of online learning have been an adjustment for us all. Students still interacted with their teachers
and were involved in many interesting assignments. We must, also, remember the
many months that students were at school and all the special activities like
sports specialists, theater groups, teacher’s pet programs, field trips, etc.
that made the school year memorable.
Our school has 178 students registered for next year. We have managed to keep all of our permanent staff
although we will wait until the fall to hire the music teacher once we know our
actual numbers in September. Mrs. Komori is a temporary teacher and her term
ends June 30. She has been a wonderful
addition to our staff this year.
We will continue with our SKILL class which has been renamed
EES (Enhanced Educational Supports). An
EES class has 9 children with one teacher and two education assistant. Students receive personalized and functional
curriculum related to the development of functional academic,
social-communication, independence, daily living, safety and leisure skills.
These students will participate in the school community as opportunities arise.
We have organized the school for next year as follows:

Thank you to all parents for sending us such wonderful
students. We enjoy the privilege of
teaching your children.
Enjoy the summer break and we look forward to an exciting
new school year in September. By August, we will know more about what the
school year will look like.
