As December begins, we look forward to our upcoming events:
Athletics- December 1 marks the day for Exhibition Games for all of our basketball teams. Spectators will be limited to parents/ guardians & siblings. Games will be livestreamed.
Drama - This December the Henry Wise Wood Theatre Program is presenting an original presentation centered around the ideas of colonialization and residential schools on December 7 – 10 at 7:00 pm. Each performance will be limited to 1/3 of capacity so we are only selling 30 tickets per performance. The performances will take place in the drama room and the tickets are $10 each. The show will run approximately 35-45 minutes with time for discussion and questions afterwards. If you would like to reserve your tickets in advance please email Mr. McDonald at mamcdonald@cbe.ab.ca.
December Concert - Our Henry Wise Wood Music Program will be holding an in-person Band concert on Dec 15, at 7:00 pm in the school gym. There will be limited seating, two tickets per Band student. We are not able to livestream the concert but will share a recording at a later date. This is a no-cost event but donations are welcome. A list of items that are needed (gently used or new):
- Jackets
- Socks, Toques & Mittens
- Warm Clothes, Hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, soap, deodorant, etc.), Canned Food, etc (non-perishable)
Donations will be distributed to various shelters such as Mustard Seed, Women's Shelter, and Inn From The Cold
Working Together - In follow up to last week's student walkout, we have had the opportunity for a number of excellent conversations with students. We are creating a school-wide opportunity for students to share their thoughts on how we continue to ensure a welcoming, safe, caring and respectful school environment for all of our Warriors. More information to come in our next Wednesday Warrior and in the School Council virtual meeting on December 13, 2021. We look forward to partnering with you as parents/guardians in this important work.
Eating Indoors- As more students are eating indoors with the colder weather, the Auxiliary gyms will be open for students to eat their lunches. Please remind your students that they must be seated when their mask is off and eating, and to bring their own cutlery. Garbage must be picked up and spills need to be cleaned up immediately.
Happy December!
