Program Overview 

The BIT cluster focuses on the management, marketing, and use of electronic technologies to access, use and manipulate information within personal, family, workplace, community, and global contexts. This cluster challenges students to expand their confidence, experience, and skills as innovators and leaders. 

Courses

Computing Science 10, 20, 30 (5 credits)

In Computing Science 10, students are introduced to the exciting and dynamic world of computer science. Learn the basics of how computers work, the history of computer science and write beginner level code. Students will build their own websites and program a video game.

In Computing Science 20, students will extend their programming skills which will nicely lead into Computing Science 30 when students explore topics that they would normally see in introductory post-secondary courses. They will continue their mastery of the Java programming language and the focus will be on algorithms and data structures. Game programming and application development for mobile devices (smartphones) will also be topics of exploration.
