Our CBE Student Code of Conduct and CBE Progressive Student Discipline regulation apply to all of our students. They outline the roles and expectations for our students to promote positive and inclusive learning environments, help students to develop empathy and become good citizens both within and outside of the school community, and explain the consequences when a student’s disruptive behaviour negatively affects the learning environment.

Our CBE Employee Code of Conduct applies to all of our employees. The CBE maintains high standards for the conduct of its employees, and expects them to conduct themselves honestly and with integrity and exercise common sense, good judgement and discretion.

Student Issues

The standard way to deal with student conflict is through character circle. Parents should encourage their child to use this forum for resolving conflicts. The teacher is responsible for making sure each child’s concern is heard. Should more serious and unsafe behaviour arise, the situation will be dealt with by an administrator.

The three pillars (respect of self, others and the environment), are the foundation of our discipline policy. All students are expected to behave in a caring manner towards each other at all times. In keeping with the values of the Calgary Board of Education, we are committed to providing our students and staff with a safe and caring school environment. Students are encouraged to resolve issues that may occur by discussing positive or negative experiences during our school-wide character time. The ultimate goal is to create students who are self-disciplined and reflective about their behaviors and actions.
