How to Register


Renewing Families:

Please complete: The CBE Home Education Expression of Interest 2021-2022 form, The Alberta Home Education Notification Form and your Home Learning Plan and email all three documents together to: Assistant Principal, Carrie Rowlandson at cerowlandson@cbe.ab.ca. You will find all documents on the right-hand side of this page under, "Links" and "Resources."

You will receive an email either confirming your acceptance or declining your application within 15 days of submitting all parts between September 1st and June 15th when someone is in the office to receive the documents. 

New Families:

  1. Become informed about CBE Home Education by viewing our CBE Home Education Getting Started Guide and the Alberta Education's Home Education Website.
  2. Attend an Information and Learning Plan Session
  3. Complete the CBE Home Education Expression of Interest 2021-2022 form and the items indicated below and email all documents to Carrie Rowlandson at cerowlandson@cbe.ab.ca.  You will find all documents on the right-hand side of this page under, "Links" or "Resources."
  • Alberta Home Education Notification Form
  • Registration Questionnaire
  • CBE Student Registration form (if transferring from outside CBE) & a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport
  • CBE Transfer form obtained from your current school (if transferring from within CBE)
  • Provide copies of any relevant documentation, including copies of IPP’s or any recent special education assessments 
  • Home Learning Plan

You will receive an email either confirming your acceptance or declining your application within 15 days of submitting all parts between September 1st and June 15th when someone is in the office to receive the documents.  Space is limited.  Please note that complete applications will be considered in the order they are received.


Information and Learning Plan Sessions

Information Sessions for families new to CBE Home Education will be hosted online using Microsoft Teams. You do not need a webcam to participate. Children are encouraged to attend with their parents/guardians.
