Learn Plan Day/IPP Review update

Good afternoon to our Jack James community,

Starting tomorrow, September 18,  homeroom teachers will be connecting with parents/guardians regarding our upcoming Learn Plan Day/IPP review.

If your student has an Individualized Program Plan (IPP), homeroom teachers will have designated meeting times on Thursday, September 24 between 3:00-7:00pm and Friday, September 25 between 8:00-11:30am to discuss supports and strategies for your student to complete their IPP. Appointment blocks will be 20 minutes in length.

Please note, on Thurs Sept 24 we will be running a Friday schedule and classes will end at 1:16pm.

If your student is not on an IPP, you do not have to make an appointment with the homeroom teacher during this time.

IPP appointment times can be booked through the MyCBE/Powerschool under My Conferences. Students will receive a hard copy of their IPP to bring home on Wednesday, Sept 23, and teachers will also be able to email a digital copy of your student's IPP if we have received consent. Administration is following up with families who have not given consent to email digital copies of IPPs.

IPP Conferences will take place via telephone or Skype video chat. There will be no in-person conferences at this time.

As we have limited phone lines in our schools, some teachers may use their own phone which may show up as an unknown/blocked caller during your interview time.

When making the appointment , please indicate if you would like a video conference in place of a telephone call. For families who request a video meeting, a Skype video invitation will be emailed by homeroom teachers on Wednesday, Sept 23.

*HUB students – Ms. Drake/Mr. Carron will be connecting to discuss IPP supports with families.

Opportunities to connect with classroom teachers to discuss your student's in class progress may take place at any time via email, and on October 28 & 29 during Parent/Guardian/Student/Teacher Conferences. Classroom teachers will not be able to have discussions with families on Sept 24/25 about student progress in classes as this time is focussed on student IPPs with homeroom teachers. Staff email addresses can be found on our website: About us -->  Contact Us --> Our Staff

If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email the main office. Thank you for all your continued support.
