Advanced Placement® (AP)

Advanced Placement (AP) is available in a variety of subject areas that will broaden students intellectual horizons. The AP Program is an intense, challenging academic program designed to provide motivated high school students with university-level academic courses. Students study subjects in greater depth and detail and explore the world through a variety of perspectives. High school students who complete AP courses and demonstrate mastery of subject material may write AP examinations, potentially leading to university credit.

AP is considered a standard for academic excellence in Canada, the United States and around the world. AP courses and exam grades are used in the admission process in more than 3,600 universities and colleges in 112 different countries.

Taking AP courses will give students a clear understanding of what they need to   do to succeed at the university level. Student work will be evaluated by college and university professors, and trained AP teachers using university-level standards. Students decide which colleges and universities receive their AP exam grades.

“First of all, I love the environment of AP. There is an excitement to learn from the teachers and the students!” - Summiya I.
