Grade 3 Announcement

Thank you for your patience while we continue to manage our increasing enrolment for the 2022/23 school year.  Our numbers in English grade 3 are quite high, sitting at 63- Mrs. Wideman has 32 students and Ms. Puffer has 31 students. These numbers are much higher than what we anticipated.

The number of students enrolled at school determines the amount of funding we receive.  The increased numbers of students has provided us with more money to hire additional staff.  This means that we are able to add an additional grade 3 teacher to the current grade 3 team.

We would like to inform you that we have hired Mr. Zane Fentiman to join the grade 3 team!  He has been the guest teacher for Ms. Puffer this week while she was away.  The students and staff have thoroughly enjoyed having Mr. Fentiman at JJ for the past few days.  He has already started building relationships with students and his new colleagues.

Mr. Fentiman will be present at the Open House tonight, Thursday, September 22 from 6:00-7:30pm.  He will be in the grade 3 rooms with Mrs. Wideman and Ms. Puffer to meet and greet students and their families. Thank you in advance for welcoming him to the JJ family!

At this time, we have not made any decisions about how having a third grade 3 teacher will be structured.  We will know more next week and will share updates with you as soon as we know them.  Please know, our top priority is for students to have positive relationships with all of their teachers and for our grade 3s to have a very successful year!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or administration if you have any questions.
