As we enter our 5th year with students in the building, I think the best word to focus on is optimism: “hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something". As our grade 10 students enter into their first year of high school, we are optimistic that they will bring an energy and positivity to the building that we can build on over the next 3 years. As our grade 11 students return to JCS, we are optimistic that the foundations they built last year in grade 10 will be improved, supported and expanded with new learning and new experiences. As our grade 12 students return for their last year of high school, we are optimistic that they will spread their wings more and more as they get ready to SOAR beyond JCS in the short 180 teaching days left before graduation. We are optimistic that this year is going to be a fabulous year, with no interruptions, isolations, extended breaks, lock-downs, and that Covid-19 will move further and further away in our rear view mirrors. We are optimistic about being able to replace those interruptions from the past few years with trips, more extra-curricular opportunities, events, and community togetherness. Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!
