Personal Belongings

Backpacks

Each student is encouraged to travel to and from school with a backpack. The regular use of a backpack ensures that schoolbooks, homework, library books and sharing items are protected from the elements and brought to and from school in good condition.

Lost & Found

The school has a “Lost & Found” area. Please browse through the items from time to time as many surprises end up there. It is always a good idea to label clothing with names - as labeled items will be returned to students.
The “Lost & Found” area is cleared several times during the school year. All worthwhile items are donated to charities and the rest is discarded. Please encourage your child to check the Lost & Found regularly.

Money, Valuables & Collectables

We discourage students from bringing cash to school. Cheques need to be made out to Killarney School. This eliminates problems that come with misplaced cash. Cheques may also be post-dated. If you have financial concerns, please contact the office to work out special arrangements.

We encourage students not to bring valuables, toys or trading cards to the school. We cannot be responsible should something be lost, stolen or damaged.

At no time do we permit toys or objects that are actual weapons or imitation weapons of any sort. These items will be confiscated if they arrive at school for any reason.

Bicycles, Skateboards, Scooters & Rollerblades

Students are welcome to ride their bicycles to school. Bike racks are available to store and lock bikes during school hours. For everyone’s safety please have your child walk their bike when in the school grounds and crosswalk areas and wear a helmet.

Please remind your child that scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, longboards and wheelies are not to be used on the school grounds during school hours and are best left at home.

Personal Electronic Devices

Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.
