September 2021 - Welcome Back

It is a beautiful honour to be principal at Lake Bonavista School. I am grateful for a most wonderful start up and for the warm and generous welcome from staff, students and parents. Teachers began the year with the beautiful book Peace Train.

"Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come and I believe it could, something good has begun.

I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one and I believe it could be someday it's going to come." (Cat Stevens)

These words resonate with me as I think about my start at Lake Bonavista School. I am thrilled to be part of this vibrant Montessori learning community that honours peace, respect, student voice, independence, creativity and growth.  As I bring my values of connection, community and creativity; I know we are set for a great year ahead.

"The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." Dr. Maria Montessori

With peace and gratitude,

Jennifer Rooke
