Personal Belongings

Clothing

The child’s name should be printed on any clothing or equipment used at school (e.g., backpacks, lunch kits, etc.)

Lost Clothing

Items that are placed in the Lost & Found boxes located under the front foyer’s display case. Students should check this box for any lost items. Small valuable lost and found artifacts are kept in the office. If items are unclaimed at the end of each term including the end of the school year, they are sent to an appropriate charity as we do not have room to store these items.

Toys, Digital Technology & Other Personal Items

Items that are not requested by the teacher for educational purposes should not be brought to school. The school does not assume responsibility for the loss of these items. All student technology is to be used at the request of and under the direct supervision of a teacher. Technology is not to be used on school grounds before or after school or during the lunch recess.

Money

If parents are sending money to school for events such as field trips, we request that the money be placed in a sealed envelope with the child’s name and classroom on the front of the envelope. Students should give the envelope to their teacher as soon as possible. Money should not be left in jacket pockets or backpacks

Bicycle and Skateboard Safety

Children may ride their bikes and skateboards to school. However, please remind them they need to WALK their bikes and skateboards across the streets and on the school grounds. The school cannot take responsibility for the security of skateboards in the school or bicycles on our playground. Allowing skateboards in the building is at the discretion of a
school. Please have your child discuss with their classroom teacher the possibility of bringing their skateboard to school prior to doing so.

All children should be aware of the rules for bicycle safety. Remember: it is the law for children to wear helmets when riding. Students should provide locks for each bike. The bike racks are out-of-bounds during school hours.
