Grade 7-12 at home learning extended - in-person learning resumes May 17, 2021
Alberta Education has approved the CBE’s request to have students in Grades 7-12 continue to learn from home for an additional two weeks to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on our schools. Principal Announcement - Retirement

February 19, 2021
Dear Langevin Families,
After nearly 5 years at Langevin School and over 32 years as an educator, I have made the decision to retire. My last day of work will be March 26, 2021.
“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom" is a quotation that has been at the centre of my beliefs as an educator. My enduring memory of my time at Langevin School will be of the exceptional learning experiences that are the foundation of the philosophy of the Science Alternative Program. The engagement in learning through inquiry and the many trips off-campus make for a truly unique, rich learning experience. While COVID-19 has put a hold on these experiences, I know that their return will be welcomed with enthusiasm and joy!
Working at Langevin School as part of the Science Alternative Program has been a dream come true. I have been amazed by the talent, curiousity, and joy for learning that students bring to the school each day.  I have been fortunate to work with an amazing staff who work collectively each day to provide their students with such wonderful experiences. I commend the parent group for your support and for participating in the learning of your children!  I will be forever grateful for the amazing students, parents and staff that I have been able to work with through my tenure.
As a member of the community, I look forward to seeing the students on field studies to the Zoo, Telus Spark or St. Patrick's Island. Maybe I will join in the Terry Fox Run when it returns to Murdoch Park!
In the coming weeks, I will work closely with Area II Education Director, Dianne Roulson, to facilitate a smooth transition for the incoming principal. Please email or call the school if you have any inquiries related to this matter.
Best regards,
Dave Williams
Principal, Langevin School
