Students will explore business through the eyes of a retailer. Students will learn both Marketing and Accounting skills. Learn how a business works, promotes itself and completes its finances.
Computer Game Coding 10

Professional HTML5 and CSS3 techniques for beautiful and interactive web design. Interactive game or story design by developing coding and problem solving skills. How to document and manage a programming project from conception to delivery.
Computer Science 20, 30
Credits: 5 per course
Prerequisites:
- 20 requires successful completion of Computer Game Coding 10
- 30 require successful completion of the previous level
Use mathematical concepts to explore, design, build and test computer programs. Using a variety of languages which may include Java, C++, C#, Alice and/or Visual Basic.
Financial Management 20, 30

Learn about personal financial literacy and general accounting principles. Explore small businesses and venture planning.
Marketing Management
The Marketing Management program offers students the opportunity to explore and experience the world of retailing, what it is like to own your own business, and grow advertising skills to help prepare for post-secondary entrance.
The program here at Pearson is a unique course that offers students a great opportunity to learn and experience like never before. Marketing students starting out are provided with hands on learning opportunities that range from working in "The Snack Shack" (our school store), to supervising and managing the store on a weekly basis. At the intermediate level students have the opportunity to become an entrepreneur and start up their own business. At the senior level students develop promotions through a wide range of medium.
What comes out of this course is a chance for all students to learn and experience the business world in a unique and fun environment that opens the doors for their future endeavors. It allows them to explore and understand the world around them and help them make decisions regarding their future careers. Students are provided with the opportunity to develop managerial and marketing skills that can be applied in real life.

Explore basic management concepts and describe retail merchandising strategies of value to the retail employee, manager and/or owner. Learn about e-commerce, marketing and communication strategies.
Marketing Management 10 (5 credits available)
Marketing Management 10 allows students to explore Business concepts through the eyes of a retailer. The course provides students with the hands on experience they need to understand the basic concepts of marketing management. The students are required to work in the school store, "The Snack Shack" throughout the semester where they receive experience in customer service, cashier and money management skills. The following modules will be completed:
- Business Office
- Marketing Basics
- Print advertising
- Quality customer service
- Visual merchandising
Marketing Management 20 (5+ credits available)
Ever dream of owning your own business? Do you have what it takes? Do you have an idea and wonder if it's marketable? Have you ever looked into entrepreneurship as a career? In Marketing Management, business skills will be integrated with entrepreneurship concepts. Students will plan, organize, implement and liquidate an actual business in the school using the Junior Achievement Venture Plan.
Students receive the opportunity to explore and investigate career opportunities in the business field, along with the opportunity to plan a profitable or non-profitable business venture; students will develop a Business Plan and Shareholders Report for their actual business.

Marketing Management 30 (5+ credits available)
At Pearson we offer a unique course that will allow students to get hands on experience at creating; television advertisements, radio advertisements and many 3 dimensional advertisements. Students learn to use a variety of medium to get their advertisements to its potential audience.

Students are provided with the opportunity to develop marketing and management skills that can be applied in the work place, in the community, in relationships and personally.
