Courses

After you have completed any one of the three Fashion 10 programs (Fashion Studies 10, Fashion Design 10 or Cosplay 10), you will have the option to register in any of the 20 level programs. Please note you may select more than one Fashion program.

Fashion Studies 10

This exploratory course is designed to expand student’s knowledge of garment creation. Students gain an understanding of the safe use and care of sewing and pressing equipment, core methods in the layout and construction of garments, develop a basic understanding of computerized embroidery machines, and learn about knit fabrics in the creation of yoga wear. Students who possess initiative, a strong work ethic, and the desire to learn new skills will find success in this course sequence.

Fashion Studies 20 & 30

At the specialized levels of Fashion Studies, students will begin by learning to apply sewing skills to specialty fabrics and high-performance sportswear. They will work to tailor a lined coat or jacket and apply sewing skills to advanced specialty fabrics, often creating a gown for graduation. Students will enjoy the freedom of choosing from a variety of modules of their interest in both the 20 and 30 level courses.

Fashion Design

Students who enter this stream have a passion for the design aspect of fashion. Students will learn how to draw stylized and technical fashion illustrations while creating a fashion line of clothing. They will apply pattern-making methods to create an original skirt or jacket and learn the techniques of draping. Students will research present and past fashion trends and they will plan and execute a fashion show using merchandising techniques.

Cosplay 10

Students who enter this stream will explore a variety of characters in Anime, Video Games, Comic Books or Animation and recreate the total look of their selected character. Students might also choose to analyze different costuming requirements and construct a costume specific to our drama productions at the school. Students gain an understanding of the safe use and care of sewing and pressing equipment, and core methods in the layout and construction of garments. Students who possess initiative, creativity, a strong work ethic, and the desire to learn new skills will find success in this course sequence.

Cosplay 20 & 30

At the specialized levels of Cosplay, students will challenge themselves with using more intricate design details and specialty fabrics to construct their costumes. They will continue to develop and expand their construction skills and knowledge of fabrics. Students will be required to construct multiple pieces to their costume to achieve the complete look of their chosen character. Students will enjoy the freedom of choosing what specific Anime, Video Game, Comic Book, or Animation character they wish to create.
