Drama 10, 20, 30

Our Drama program provides students with many theatrical, personal and social opportunities. In the classroom, students are challenged to develop skills in all areas of the theatre and to explore themselves as artists. Students work with every classmate creating and collaborating while developing communication and teamwork skills through active participation. Drama students are given the opportunity to perform for other students in the school if they choose. Drama students also get to enjoy one school trip to the theatre in semester one, to view and critique at least one performance, and in semester two have the opportunity to attend, participate and perform at the Calgary High School Drama Festival.

Students in these courses have opportunities to design and build all aspects of a show related to prop and set design/construction, hanging and focusing lights, recording and mixing sound in our professional grade technical booth/recording studio in our state-of-the-art 460 seat theatre. Students enrolled in these courses have multiple opportunities to be stage managers, props masters, costume designers, make up artists and designers, light board operators, and soundboard/computer operators for our theatrical productions, as well as outside bookings of our theatre.
