Cell Phones, Cameras and Digital Devices
Cell phones are a major distraction in class and should not be visible unless approved by the teacher. Cell phones should only be used on students’ own time in private locations so the call does not become public. If you are expecting an important call/text, please notify your teacher in advance to avoid disruption and the learning of others in the class.
Students must be conscious of the ethical use of cameras and ensure that photo taking is consensual. Students cannot post pictures on any internet based sites without the written consent of the other student(s). CBE regulations do not allow the use of cellphones or cameras in washrooms or change rooms.
Care of Personal Property
The school is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property. Students are advised to leave items of value at home and not share their locker combinations.
Lost & Found
Students are advised to check in the office for any items that may have been turned in. Items not claimed by the end of the school year will be donated.
Personal Electronic Devices
Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school.
Bicycles
We certainly encourage active living practices with children such as riding a bicycle to school. Upon arrival at the school and for the safety of all students, cyclists are expected to walk bicycles on school grounds during school hours. When bicycles are brought to school they should be locked to the fence at the front of the school. The school cannot be responsible for bicycles damaged or stolen while they are at school.
