Engaging on School Development Plans

Each fall, our school prepares a school development plan - an action plan that outlines what students and teachers will do to improve student learning outcomes connected to the school results. The school development plan ensures a targeted and focused approach and allows staff, students and parents to understand the strategies we will use to improve student learning.

As we develop the school development plan, engaging with staff, parents and students is an important part of the process. Watch for news stories on our website throughout the year for ways you can get involved. We'll also send information by SchoolMessenger, so make sure you have subscribed to receive our email messages. Another great way to keep informed is by attending our school council meetings.

In addition to news stories, we'll post information about upcoming meetings on this page. We'll also share feedback gathered at meetings and through online surveys on this page.

If you have any questions about this engagement, please contact the principal.

Provide opportunities to engage the students and wrap around supports available at the school in the development of SDP outcomes related to student well-being.

The LDC partnership is strong in many ways, and could be stronger with more communication and consistency between all partners. It would be interesting to have each partner come together with their annual goals/funding accountabilities to look for overlap and develop a centre wide approach to ensure everyone is rowing in the same direction with the greatest efficiency.

Please take a moment to provide any written feedback on the process of this meeting and how we can improve this process for next year.

Appreciated the information and being a part of this process. Would love to have the presentation be more specific. Love to hear examples on how it relates to the specific population at LDC.

One suggestion might be to deliver the presentation during a time that would work for all Centre staff.

I really appreciate our Principal taking the time to review the documents. We look forward to supporting the achievement of these goals however possible.
