1.     Please Pay Your fees

As we enter the month of June, please check your MyCBE PowerSchool account to see if you have any unpaid fees. We appreciate you paying any outstanding fees as soon as possible as we look to close out this school year.

2.     Marion Carson Run Club

We had another great turn out for our final run club event this morning. Thank you to all who have been participating in this weekly fun. We had some records made today with collecting popsicle sticks for laps We encourage you to speak to your child to find out how they did throughout the run club and see how they challenged themselves or gathered up friends to participate.

Congratulations to all families who signed up for the Earn and Burn Calgary Scotiabank Marathon contest in connection to our school. We hope you enjoyed this past weekend's event. We are proud of you all.

3.     Jump Rope for Heart

Ready, set, jump! Our Jump Rope for Heart Day was on May 23rd.  This is the final reminder for those wanting to donate to the Heart & Stroke Foundation as the fundraising pages will remain open until June 6, 2023. So far we have raised $735. If you would like to donate, click the link below.

4.     Volunteer Tea

Our volunteer tea was yesterday morning. We would like to say a great big thank you to all volunteers who have supported our classrooms throughout this year We truly appreciate you taking the time to support Marion Carson School.

If you would like to volunteer in the future and require a valid or updated ePic police security clearance, now is the time to get the process started to be ready to volunteer next school year. If you would like to begin this process, please come to the school office during office hours with your photo ID.

5.     Loose Parts Play Program

Loose parts play is a volunteer initiative that our community has been piloting for a year.  They are celebrating this amazing new program's success and promoting it at a re-launch event on Friday, June 9th from 4 - 6 pm in conjunction with open stage and food truck night at the Varsity Community Center. Families are encouraged to come out for a free, fun evening and be amazed by how children of all ages will engage and play in new ways. This program promotes creative and collaborative play by giving children access to a variety of loose parts (like rope, tarp, cardboard, and tires) and trained volunteers to support their ideas. Community membership is not required.
