Students are in their second week of classes since the end of the extended Winter Break. Routines have been re-established and students are happy to be in-class and with their peers. It is business as normal. As a school we continue to follow all the health and safety protocols to ensure that students and staff have a safe and healthy environment for learning.
Shortly we will receive the face masks and rapid testing kits that the Alberta government is providing for staff and students in all Alberta schools. As soon as they are available, the school will communicate with you that they are ready to be distributed and how that will look. Stay tuned!
January is also the month in which the Mandarin program celebrates Chinese New Year and shares that celebration with the rest of the school. This celebration will reflect current guidelines and restrictions but will be recognized throughout the school.
At the end of January, report cards will be available for online viewing. If you are unable to view your child’s report card through MyCBE / PowerSchool portal, please contact the school.
As this is Calgary, there is no predicting the weather. When I moved to this city in 1979, the first thing I was told was “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes”. Please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather – as unpredictable as that is. Unless it is -20 (with wind chill) or colder, students will go outside for recess, fresh air and play!
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of your child, our staff and our school. Together we are a great team!
