As I sit at my desk, I am reflecting on my almost eight months at Midnapore School. I reflect on how fast the time has gone and how quickly the school year is drawing to an end. Sadly, it is also time to say good bye as I leave this school community and move to Riverbend School for the 2022-2023 school year.
The month of June is the month in which many school activities draw to a close. Teachers finish teaching units and wrap up curriculum content. A great deal of final assessments occur, report cards are written and, at the same time as wrapping up one school year, preparations for the next school year begin.
The return of pleasant weather also provides more opportunities to move teaching and learning outside. Many classes take the opportunity to complete community walks, to connect with nature and build relationships with the land. This school is blessed with being closely located near Fish Creek Park and the natural connections it provides.
Our final day of classes is Tuesday, 28 June 2022. Report cards will be available electronically through your MyCBE account. If there are any concerns about your child’s report card, teachers will be available on the morning of Wednesday, 29 June 2022 to address these concerns.
I would like to express my gratitude to the students, staff and parents of Midnapore School who welcomed me into your community and supported me during my time as acting principal. I wish you all the best for the future and I know that this school will continue to thrive with all of your support.
Have a wonderful summer and all the very best for the future!
