Our CBE Student Code of Conduct and CBE Progressive Student Discipline regulation apply to all of our students. They outline the roles and expectations for our students to promote positive and inclusive learning environments, help students to develop empathy and become good citizens both within and outside of the school community, and explain the consequences when a student’s disruptive behaviour negatively affects the learning environment.

Our CBE Employee Code of Conduct applies to all of our employees. The CBE maintains high standards for the conduct of its employees, and expects them to conduct themselves honestly and with integrity and exercise common sense, good judgement and discretion.

Code of Conduct

MidSun School has an excellent reputation for the behavior of its students. It is expected that students and staff will be committed to resolving discipline issues collaboratively. MidSun School uses the progressive discipline policy and works to ensure consequences are learning rich and appropriate.

Students will experience success in school if they get involved in positive ways and work hard. MidSun School offers students numerous ways to become involved and we encourage all students to participate in at least one of the many extracurricular opportunities.

School and Community Pride

We are fortunate to have such a great place to learn and work. We all have a responsibility to keep it orderly, clean and safe. During school time, before and after school and during all field trips and school related activities, students are expected to abide by the CBE student code of conduct. Specific to MidSun, we remind all students to:

  • avoid trespassing on the grounds of private homes and loitering in the alleys near private property
  • respect the parks and green spaces near the school
  • refrain from using the Fish Creek School playground
  • use garbage and recycling receptacles both inside and outside

May be assigned to students because work has not been completed satisfactorily, because of unacceptable conduct or because of tardiness. Detentions may be served at lunch or after school with parent’s permission. A student who skips a detention will be considered to be in defiance of the staff member and will be dealt with accordingly by school administration.

Both in-school and out of school suspensions may be used for students who contravene the code of conduct. The Student Code of Conduct and the Progressive Discipline Policy will guide our decision making.
