Jump Rope for Heart 2020

We continue to support the Heart & Stroke foundation with their annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.  The skipping club hosted a kick-off assembly by demonstrating some skipping techniques and learning more about heart health.




Christmas Concert 2019

This year, Ms. Thompson and Ms. Oppenheim directed a fabulous Christmas concert, and our School Council organized and hosted a wonderful bake sale.  Thank you everyone who supported our school community in this event.

  

Remembrance Day 2019

Our Remembrance Day ceremony was hosted by the grade 5/6 team and featured a performance from Ms. Oppenheim's choir group.


Mount View School Pumpkin Patch 2019

Once again our School Council organized Mount View School's annual Pumpkin Patch.  Students added creative pumpkins to the patch and received a ticket for a fun draw.  Staff and students got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up and coming together in the gymnasium for a movement break.


Terry Fox Run 2019

This year we participated in the Terry Fox run to raise money for cancer research.  Thank you to our physical education specialist Ms. Burger, and our parent volunteers and School Council who once again supported this fun event!



Welcome Back To School Muffin Mixer 2019

In September our amazing School Council organized their annual Muffin Mixer as a way of welcoming the community back to a new year of learning.  A special thank-you to Tony Nicastro for donating the food and beverages!



Christmas Concert 2018

On December 12, 13, and 14 we hosted Christmas concerts for our grade 1/2, grades 3/4 and 5/6, and Kindergarten students.  We were thrilled by the turnout from the community, and the outstanding performances from our students.  Our music teachers, Ms. Gemynd and Ms. Freestone, invested a tremendous amount of time and effort in preparing students for their performances.  Also, School Council hosted a craft and bake sale that raised over $14 hundred dollars!  Way to go Mount View!




Remembrance Day 2018

On Friday, November 9th we hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony.  Thank you to our students who presented poems, created artwork, and shared information in honor of veterans past and present who served our country.





Halloween at Mount View School

On Wednesday, October 31st students wore their Halloween costumes to school and teachers offered a variety of themed tasks in class.  Students also carved a variety of creative pumpkins and had their names entered into a draw.  Finally, we met as a whole school in the gym for a fun movement break.








Mount View School Family Math Night

Kindergarten & Grade 1/2 Sharing Assembly

Our Kindergarten and Grade 1/2 classes hosted a sharing assembly on October 19, 2018 with a focus on all the excellent things they are doing to promote good citizenship at Mount View School.





Mount View School Terry Fox Run 2018

Thank you to our school community for helping us raise over $700 for the Terry Fox Foundation in support of cancer research.  We had wonderful weather for the run, and was joined by special guest Bob Cocking who is the Alberta Teachers' Association Local 38 president.






Jump Rope for Heart Awards

As a school we raised $6,422.25!  We also want to recognize Sadie and Eoghain who both raised over $1000 each, and were the top two fundraisers in the entire city of Calgary.  Way to go!!!
