| Greetings fellow Wolverines, Parents and Guardians, I hope this finds you well and that you are all enjoying the last days of summer break before we are back at school. I wanted to ease a little bit of the anticipation and excitement by letting you know that homeroom teachers will be reaching out by email to give you all the pertinent back to school information. They will be doing this on August 28. Information about which entry doors to use and where to go on the first day and all other important information will be provided then, in order to have a smooth start to the year. The first day for GRADE 6 students only and those students new to MPS (all grades) is August 31 and this will be a full day of school with yellow busing. For new students in grades 7-9, the day will be shorter from 9 am to 10:30 am on the 31st, starting in the Learning Commons and these students will need to be dropped off and picked up accordingly. The first day for all students in grades 6-9 will be Friday, September 01, 2023. I am excited to start the new year and I hope you are as well. David Sparrow, Principal , Mountain Park School

| Greetings MPS Community Members and Families, I know that the safety and security of students is a top concern for Parents and Guardians. At Mountain Park School, we take student safety very seriously. The wellbeing of our students is a top priority for us as well. Over the past several days, I have been out monitoring the cross-walks at the corner of Mt. Douglas Close and Mt. McKenzie Drive. What has become apparent is that during morning drop off and afternoon pick up, that the traffic at this intersection is highly congested and very busy. This has created safety concerns for our students as they cross both streets at this intersection. In order to help alleviate these concerns, I would like to request that parents and guardians avoid entering Mt. Douglas Close when dropping off and/or picking up their students. There is plenty of space along Mt. McKenzie Drive to stop and drop off/pick up your student(s) safely. One suggestion is to designate a pre-determined location with your student(s) along Mt. McKenzie Drive for the rest of the year, keeping in mind to avoid the yellow school bus zone. This would help prevent a large number of vehicles entering and leaving Mt. Douglas Close during peak times and limit the number of vehicles moving through both cross-walks, making crossing these streets safer for our students. I want to thank you in advance for working with us to keep our students safe. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, David Sparrow, Principal
