Dear NBS Families,
Welcome to the start of another great year at New Brighton School. On behalf of our entire staff, I would like to welcome back all of our returning families and those who are new to our school this year. The staff has been in the last week of August working on getting the school set up and ready for students. The restful summer has brought with it renewed energy and enthusiasm and we are all looking forward to getting the school year started.
We hope your summer and time spent with the family have created a new set of fond memories and experiences that your child will be eager to share with us. It will be our mission to carry on and build those experiences and create a year's worth of celebrations and events that will inspire and engage all of your children.
We continue to be a capped school with our student enrollment currently over 595 students. We are back to having a waitlist for every grade with the exception of kindergarten. With our lower kindergarten enrollment this year we were able to call back several students from our overflow school McKenzie Lake and welcome them to our school community. We are thrilled to see the new faces and get some of our local families back into their community school.
We look forward to meeting all our parents and guardians on September 21 and 22 for our Parent Teacher Conferences which are very important conferences to attend in that it allows families to share information with teachers about their children and to establish positive, essential relationships between home and school that promote learning. More information will come home closer to those dates.
In closing, we wish you all the best as we embark on another exciting year of learning and exploring.
Sincerely
Patrick Murphy
Principal, New Brighton School
