School Telephone Use

  • O. S. Geiger School has voice mail with voice prompts.
  • The school phones are considered business phones and are primarily used for conducting school business.
  • Students may use the phone only in case of emergency or to inform parents that they must remain in school to complete work. They are not allowed to make after school plans on the school phones. This should be done in advance of coming to school.

Please note | For safety reasons, children will not be given messages, as we cannot identify the caller. We will not interrupt classrooms to put through calls. Telephone calls to classrooms during instructional times are disruptive to the teacher and to student learning. If you will be picking your child up other than at the end of the morning or afternoon please write a note in their agenda.

School Profile

Our school profile includes a dynamic map with our designation area and walk zone.

Lines of Communication

From time to time, questions or concerns may arise from something that has happened at school. We ask parents to
support us in our efforts to work together to resolve any concerns that they may have.

The first step for parents in voicing a concern is to talk to their child’s teacher. (Teachers are most knowledgeable
about what is occurring with the children in their classroom, and most issues can and should be dealt with at that level)
Parents may choose to consult with the school administration regarding an issue after first talking with their child’s teacher.

This kind of open, two-way communication between the school and parents is important. It creates a positive learning environment.

Contact Information Updates

Please notify the school office immediately with any changes of address, telephone numbers (home, business and/or cell), email address or emergency contact numbers. It is critical that we have a current record of contact information on file so we can reach you or other emergency contacts. Please also be sure to provide us with a current copy of any custody agreements.

Concerns & Complaints

We know that the success of your student is dependent on a strong partnership between families and the CBE. If you have a concern, it can usually be addressed at the classroom level. Your first step is to arrange to speak privately with your child’s teacher. If you feel your issue is still unresolved, please contact your principal. If you and the school are unable to find a resolution, please see our Concerns & Complaints page for additional information, including the process to contact your Area Director.
