Cultivating Fresh Beginnings and Growing Together at OHS

Dear Olympic Heights School Families and Students,

With great enthusiasm and a warm welcome, we, Trevor Barkley (Principal) and Adam Eakins (Assistant Principal), extend our heartfelt greetings to you as we stand on the brink of a new school year. As the sun casts its gentle glow upon our classrooms and hallways, we find ourselves reminded of the remarkable parallels between the growth of a plant and the journey of each student at Olympic Heights School.

Just like a plant's journey, education too follows the remarkable cycle of growth – from a tiny seed to a flourishing plant. As we nurture our students, we recognize the stages they progress through: the seed, sprout, seedling, and ultimately, the plant. This cycle symbolizes the transformations our students experience as they learn, grow, and bloom in our care.

Our school is not just a place of learning; it's a fertile ground for personal and academic development. Each student, like a unique seed, brings their own potential, waiting to sprout and flourish. As we embark on this new school year, we embrace the promise of fresh beginnings and new opportunities for learning, just as a sprout pushes through the soil, reaching for the sky.

At Olympic Heights, we understand that friendships are an integral part of this journey. Like seedlings intertwining their roots, students connect with one another, forming bonds that will support them throughout their growth. Let us encourage these fresh friendships to take root and thrive, creating an environment where kindness, respect, and empathy become the nutrients that sustain our school community.

Our school's foundation is built upon three pillars of care: care for ourselves, care for others, and care for our place – Olympic Heights School. Just as a plant needs the right balance of sunlight, water, and nutrients to thrive, we too must foster a harmonious balance within our community. By nurturing our own well-being, extending a helping hand to others, and preserving the beauty of our learning environment, we create a space where growth knows no bounds.

As the first day of classes draws near, let's embrace the excitement of this journey together. Just as plants flourish with care and attention, so too will our students with the guidance of our exceptional educators and the unwavering support of families like yours.

Here's to the upcoming year of growth, exploration, and new achievements. We look forward to nurturing each student's potential, watching them transform and thrive in ways that make us all proud.

With warm regards,

Trevor Barkley
