June 2023 Newsletter

Dear Families,

June has arrived and with it, we are in a month of celebration and transition.

It was wonderful to see so many families at our Pancake Breakfast last week. To see our community coming together, to share food and conversation was fantastic! We have appreciated our school community showing up and supporting events like this.

I would like to report that swimming lessons also went well, despite scheduling changes. The flexibility and support of our families helped make this a success. Our students demonstrated growth in their skills and when I was able to see them in action I was impressed with their participation and perseverance. Stay tuned, swimming report cards will be sent home in the coming weeks.

Our grade 5 students had the opportunity to visit Ernest Morrow School in late May. They were able to meet staff, tour the school and learn more about middle school programming. There was a great vibe and students were excited to learn more about their transition to grade 6.

On June 21 students and staff will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day. We will come together to kick-off the day with a flag raising ceremony. Throughout the day, students will be working with their classroom teacher, in various ways to honour and recognize the day.

We have many events this month so I would ask that you closely review upcoming details and dates.

A reminder that Kindergarten registration is ongoing and it is important that we get students registered ASAP. Also, if your child will not be attending Patrick Airlie for the 2023-2024 school year, please contact the office to let us know. The earlier this is done, the better able we are to support student's transitions to new school.

If you have any questions about the above details or dates, please reach out to your child's teacher, administration or the main office to discuss. We appreciate your ongoing support of our school community

All the best,

Mary-Elizabeth Kaiser
