June - Principal Message

We have had another remarkable year at Penbrooke Meadows!  September began with a new re-entry health and safety plan consisting of mask wearing, hand sanitizing, physical distancing and cohort classroom arrangements.  Our students persevered through the new restrictions as thoughtful, kind and caring citizens.  We are so proud of our student community of learners.

The staff at Penbrooke Meadows would like to thank you, the parents and families, for all of the extra time and effort you have put in to helping your children learn from home.  Since the beginning of the year, teachers have prepared students to become familiar with google classroom, educational learning sites, uploading completed assignments and work while at school.  With your assistance, your child experienced success as learning pivoted from in-person learning to online learning with little disruption.  We appreciate your ongoing support!

Each year, we are grateful for the staff members who are dedicated to our school community.  We are thankful for the time we get to learn from each other and understand that some of our members will be moving on to other assignments and school locations.  It is with mixed emotions that we sadly say good bye to Mr. Jagrelius, Mrs. Gehmlich, Ms. Pacheco, Mrs. Barnes and Mr. Goring.  We will definitely miss all of their positive energy and enthusiasm.  We wish them all the very best in their next assignment.

Please join us for the last School Council Virtual meeting of the year.  Wednesday, June 16 @ 5:30.  A Microsoft TEAMs invite will be sent via School Messenger early next week.  We will be celebrating student learning and addressing street safety at the crosswalks.  Hopefully you will be able to attend and share your voice and feedback.

We wish each of our students and families a safe and healthy summer.  Take time to care for yourself and each other.  It has been a most challenging year and you deserve a much-earned break.  Looking forward to what we hope will be a more “next to normal" school year in August.

See you then!

Penbrooke Meadows staff
