February Principal Message
We have a lot to celebrate at Penbrooke Meadows!
Throughout the month of February, we will be acknowledging Black History Month and the many contributions the black community has made and continues to make in Alberta, and our country.
As Valentine's Day approaches, we would like to remind our families that our school adheres to the Calgary Board of Education Nutrition Policy which recognizes the health and safety of all students. Therefore, we ask families to refrain from sending treats, baked goods and/or store purchased food items for your child to share with their classmates. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.
This year we are so excited that our students will be able to exchange Valentine Cards with their classmates. Teachers will send out a classroom note to families, outlining how the card exchanges will happen in their classroom. Please note that Valentine card exchanges is optional, and not an expectation for students/families.
Our next Special Parent School Council virtual meeting will take place Wednesday, February 16 at 5:30 p.m. (meeting link sent out on February 15). The purpose of this meeting is to gather feedback from parents on school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. When students, staff and parents work closely together, students experience greater success. Please consider joining this meeting and the group of dedicated parents. Your voice and input are truly needed!
