June Principal Message

As the school year comes to an end, we want to convey our great gratitude to our Penbrooke Meadows families. This year had so many challenges, and each step of the way our families worked with the school community, so that we were able to continue teaching and learning with students. The positivity with which our families supported us through this year is greatly appreciated.  I would also like to acknowledge and thank all of our Penbrooke Meadows School staff for their incredible work.  The staff at Penbrooke Meadows is a group of people who are passionate about their work in service of all students.

Each year, we are grateful for the staff members who are dedicated to our school community.  We are thankful for the time we get to learn from each other and understand that some of our members will be moving on to other assignments and school locations.
Ms. Jolivette will be leaving to join Janet Johnstone School to teach a new group of students; Mr. Worton has completed his assignment at Penbrooke Meadows. He has done a great job supporting our students with additional literacy and mathematics learning.  Thank you, Mr. Worton!  Ms. McGowan will be returning to our school community from Cbe-Learn.

It is with mixed emotions that we sadly say good bye to Ms. Hatanaka, our amazing school Resource Teacher.  We wish her the best in her retirement!  We will also miss Mr. Nagato, Ms. Mona Lisa, and Ms. Jenny, our fantastic facility operators.  We appreciate how they have kept our school safe, clean and functioning throughout the two years of a global pandemic.  We will definitely miss all of their positive energy and enthusiasm.

All the best to the staff who are moving on to new adventures!

Penbrooke Meadows looks forward to continuing our work in Literacy, Mathematics and Well-Being in the fall.   Information about school start- up will be sent out to families in August. Please continue to check our website for updates and new information.  Our school calendar is also posted on our website. August 15 - First day of school; View webpage for Back to School information & Penbrooke Meadows Modified Calendar

During the summer months, we ask that we all remember to do our Four Pillars of Care:

Take care of yourself; Take care of each other; Take care of our planet; Take care of the joy of learning.

Karon, Kim and the Penbrooke Meadows School Staff
