Dressing for the Weather
It is very important that children come to school with appropriate clothing for the season, the weather can change quickly in Calgary. As the weather gets colder it is important to remember that students will be outside for recess unless the temperature is below –20 degrees Celsius. Students will also be outside during recess breaks if it is raining or snowing, unless blizzard conditions occur.
Students should always come to school prepared for the colder temperatures:
- Boots
- Hats
- Gloves
- Scarves
- Warm Coat
If you need help finding suitable winter clothing, call the school at 403-777-6750.
If it is only lightly raining we do send children outside. Students should have a jacket to put on.
Blue Dots in School Windows
Blue Dot In Window
We have begun to hang blue dots in outside windows when the weather is too cold to wait outside. This is to help parents and students know when they arrive at school to begin morning or afternoon classes that we are letting students in right away. Students can knock on their outside entrance door and there will be staff just inside to let them in.
