One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Parent Society

Our Parent Society is known as The Ramsay School Parent Association (RSPA)

The Ramsay School Parent Association (RSPA) is the volunteer-run board that organizes fundraisers and stewards the funds raised. Learn more about how the money raised was used for the 2021-22 school year.

RSPA organizes two main fundraisers: casino and Stampede parking. Many other schools have multiple fundraisers (chocolate, fruit, flower sales, etc.) and families have to pay for field trips and additional in-school enrichment
opportunities for students.

While it is RSPA who organizes the fundraisers, success of these events are dependent on YOU!!! We need Ramsay School parents and the supporting community to volunteer in various capacities for these fundraisers.

  • The parking fundraiser runs the duration of the Calgary Stampede. Sign-up here to receive updates and planning starts January.
  • Thank you to everyone who volunteers for the October 18 - 19, 2022 casino fundraiser! We are eligible for another casino fundraiser in 18 - 24 months. Sign-up here for updates.

The RSPA Board is composed of:

4 Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer), and Up to 3 Directors.

In addition to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) with members, the Board meets 5-6 times throughout the school year. Committees, like the Stampede Parking Fundraiser Planning Committee, meet separately and report to the Board. If you’re interested in learning more about or joining the Board or a committee of RSPA, contact us at RamsaySchoolPA@gmail.com

Annual General Meeting (AGM) Information

Thank you to those who attended the AGM on September 28, 2022. The documents reviewed at the AGM are available in this folder and the minutes will be added when they are ready.

The next AGM will be in September 2023. Details will be shared at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
