One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

Message from your School Council

Ramsay School Council supports the learning and well-being of Ramsay students; advises the Principal and Board of Trustees on school matters, ensures the parent/guardian perspective is presented in school decision-making and shares information about the school with the community. All parents and guardians of current Ramsay students are members, and invited to attend, participate, and vote at School Council meetings.

Every year we elect a School Council Executive consisting of a: Past Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, and Members-at-Large. These are volunteer roles filled by parents or guardians of current students. We convene a meeting every month of the school year except December to which all Ramsay families are welcome. The agenda is distributed in advance and minutes are available on the website shortly after the following meeting. Reach out to us at ramsaycouncil@gmail.com.

(The Ramsay School Parent Association (RSPA) is the other organization led by parent/guardian volunteers. RSPA raises all the funds to support the enriched and equitable learning environment at our school through activities like residencies, field trips, school supplies, and books for the Resource Centre. Get in touch to help raise funds for our school at RamsaySchoolPA@gmail.com)

RT @RoyaloakCBE: On dress like your favourite book character day, there were princesses in the wetlands, living alphabets, and creativity found throughout the school. What a fun way to embrace the energy that fills June! #wearecbe #getoutside https://t.co/jOtfCyD22x

RT @WesternRedhawks: This past year, a committee of students has been hard at work gathering student voice and consulting with Elders and Knowledge Keepers in the planning of a garden in the courtyard area off of the main foyer. #wearecbe https://t.co/r5VyCRdCX9 https://t.co/CuBU8EuVan

LAST CHANCE to register for yellow school bus transportation. If you do not register by the June 11 deadline you will not be included in route planning for the fall and may be responsible for transportation for the first six weeks of school. https://t.co/EV8CAc6U9H #WeAreCBE https://t.co/wi3SDZ4VaI

Friday, June 9 is a system-wide non-instructional day so there are no classes for CBE students. Have a safe long weekend and stay cool! #WeAreCBE https://t.co/aZILp20jXS
