Lunch Supervision

The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for information. 

If your child goes home for lunch, please be sure that they do not return until 12:55, when teachers are outside to supervise, unless they are in a club and previous arrangements have been made.

We have moved our lunchroom supervision from a few large eating areas, like our gym, to classrooms where classroom groups will eat together. In order to facilitate this change, we have added a sixth supervisor to our lunchroom team and moved away from having students eat and play at different times. All students begin to eat their lunch at 12:00 with a quiet time so that everyone has a chance to eat. In order to ease congestion, we are taking the Grade 5/6 students outside at 12:15 and the rest of the students join them at 12:20. If there are any students who have not finished their food by that time, arrangements are made to let them do so.  Following that time, everyone is outside together for a supervised playtime.

Milk Program

There is no milk program this year.

Behaviour Guidelines

Students are expected to behave in a respectful, courteous manner during the lunch period. Generally students must:

• Remain seated while eating, engaging in quiet conversation.
• Dispose of garbage appropriately in containers provided.
• Participate in clean up of the lunch area.
• Engage in appropriate indoor activities.
• Request permission to leave the lunchroom area.
• Follow instructions the first time.
• Show respectful behavior to the adults and other students in the lunchroom.
